Marta Rodriguez graduated in Pharmacy from the University in 2017. She is currently doing the paid internship of Master's Degree in design Galenic and Manufacturing in the Pharmaceutical Industry at 3P Biopharmaceuticals, a leading business dedicated to development and the production of biotech drugs to third parties.

Marta works there, in the production department , in the USP (Upstream Processing) area , and more specifically, in the part dedicated to mammalian cell culture. "This area is in charge of the cell cultures to obtain the product", she explains. "Being part of this team has given me the opportunity to learn the steps and requirements necessary to develop a eukaryotic cell culture on an industrial scale and to get by using very modern technology in this field", adds Marta.

But his work has not only allowed him to delve into the way in which production is carried out, but "also into everything that accompanies the process, such as the preparation of the necessary materials and reagents, quality controls, the documentation system...". A more general and complete vision of the process is also contributed to by the fact that the team in which he has been integrated is made up of professionals from very diverse fields related to biomedicine.

"The fact that the Master's Degree includes a one-year internship in a pharmaceutical company business seems very important to me for fill in and to consolidate the knowledge acquired," Marta acknowledges. "The Master's Degree in design Galenic and Manufacturing in the Pharmaceutical Industry has allowed me to enter the sector acquiring the necessary knowledge, both in terms of production and quality system. In this sense, I have been able to see the great added value that the pharmacist has, as a professional, by having this overview of the production process," she concludes.
