MIDI and Cuatrecasas organize a webinar on the impact of Covid-19 on the healthcare sector
The session offered the collaborating companies of postgraduate program and alumni an updated framework on the legislative changes generated by the healthcare crisis.
The Master's Degree in research and development +I of Medicines (MIDI) of the School of Pharmacy and Nutrition of the University of Navarra organized, together with the law firm Cuatrecasas, a webinar aimed at the collaborating companies of the program and alumni to address the impact on the healthcare sector of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The session provided participants with an updated framework in a changing legislative moment generated by the health crisis. The serious global emergency status has led to the adoption of a wide range of measures, affecting all productive sectors, including the pharmaceutical sector. For this reason, throughout the course of meeting, the measures with a particular impact on the health sector and its different operators (drugs, medical devices, cosmetics, health service providers, etc.) were presented and analyzed from a practical point of view.
Moderated by lawyer Lara Vettorazzi, the session was attended by experts Jorge Robles, Ariadna Casanueva, Isabel Fano and Adolfo Ruigómez. In their speeches they discussed the main measures adopted at subject for medicines, medical devices and PPE, as well as measures in relation to cosmetic products and biocides.
They also discussed issues such as price intervention and made a reference letter to clinical trials, taxation on imports and deliveries of medical devices. In addition, they reviewed the new features of the tax deduction of research and development+i, the system of liability for the Public Administrations and their general guidelines for action in subject procurement.
