The School of Architecture of the University of Navarra hosts a exhibition until March 23rd, accredited by the Embassy of Japan, as a commemorative event of the 150th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Spain.

The students of the first course of Degree at design were in charge of the assembly of this exhibition. In it, specialized publications and objects are exhibited, reminiscent of the subtlety of design and Japanese visual arts.

With this activity, the students explored the most outstanding elements of Japan's creative traditions through their shapes, silhouettes, textures and colors by studying the objects of which they are composed. Based on this research, they produced a series of prints that attempt to capture the themes presented.

This project, directed by Professor Maria Angelica Martinez, is part of the subject "Creative Traditions in History", which seeks to give continuity to the dissemination of design Japanese and participation in cultural events organized by the Embassy of Japan in Madrid.

This activity is in addition to the one developed by Professor Joaquín Lorda, who passed away two years ago, called "Hinamatsuri and Karesansui", which commemorated the 400th anniversary of the first Japanese embassy in Europe.
