The University of Navarra has decided to fail its activity at the Pamplona campus from 3 p.m. today for security reasons. In view of the events planned for this afternoon, where the influx of groups from outside the University and violent incidents are expected, the academic center has canceled classes and suspended all class activity.
In a letter sent to employees and students, president Maria Iraburu defined the University of Navarra as a place of meeting, reflection, peaceful coexistence, serene discussion and respect for others. "At every moment in history, with different nuances, circumstances arise that threaten this goal. We live in times of strong polarization, in which words and ideas are manipulated and distorted and in which coherence is sometimes confused with aggressiveness," he said. "Our university community is broad and is made up of people who are free and responsible for their actions. It is important to remember that this truly university space is built every day by all of us, with our words, attitudes and actions.
