On March 6, the campus a lecture emotional well-being that brought together families and employees of Tecnun, Ceit and the Erain, Eskibel, and Erain Txiki schools. Psychiatrist Luis Gutiérrez Rojas led a session as part of this year’s Health and Well-being Series, organized by the Personnel Management Service.

The lecture, marked by humor and a profound reflection on everyday life, addressed the importance of finding meaning in life and maintaining an optimistic outlook. “The optimist understands that life is complicated and that perfection doesn’t exist, but he knows who he is and plays his cards right. There are millions of reasons to be happy, and yet we live in a state of anxiety.”

Throughout his talk, Gutiérrez Rojas debunked the idea of “easy, constant happiness,” arguing that “life is painful and complex,” and encouraged the audience to reflect on the purpose their actions. “The happiest people are those who find meaning in their lives, regardless of external circumstances.”

The speaker also speaker the anxiety caused by trying to plan everything down to the last detail. “There’s never a perfect time to do things, and you can’t go through life with the brakes constantly on. You have to take the plunge,” he said.

Finally, Gutiérrez Rojas encouraged the audience to accept imperfection as a part of life and to commit to loving themselves and others. “Love is a choice, not a feeling, since feelings are fleeting. What matters is deciding to keep loving every day,” he concluded.
