School of Pharmacy and Nutrition . held the graduation ceremony for the 36th class of the University “ Master's Degree ” in “ research and development+i” in the field of pharmaceuticals, calling for market-focused innovation.

The School of Pharmacy and Nutrition University of Navarra held the academic closing ceremony for the 36th graduating class of the Master's Degree research, , and Drug Innovation (MIDI) development . The ceremony brought together the 37 graduates, their families, faculty, and academic officials at the auditorium of the Sciences Building to also commemorate the program’s 35-year history.

The event began with opening remarks by the dean, María Javier Ramírez, and a speech by the director of the Master's Degree, Ariane Vettorazzi, who introduced the closing speaker , Dr. Esperanza Regueras, founder and CEO of Novus BioPharma S.L. and Axis Pharma S.L.

Under the“Pharmaceutical Industry and Innovation” degree scroll , Dr. Regueras focused her discussion paper on the need to redefine innovation from a strict market- approach . She explained that innovation is not about developing high technology, but rather about “transforming resources into superior differential value from the customer’s perspective,”since what customers buy is utility and satisfaction. In this regard, she warned that the greatest danger for an innovator is “knowing more” than the customer about what the product should do, thereby ignoring the customer’s real needs. To illustrate this, he contrasted historical cases such as IBM’s commercial success over UNIVAC in the 1950s and 1960s—where IBM prevailed by offering solutions tailored to the “ business ” (business needs) as opposed to its rival’s greater scientific power—with the current success of Lilly and Novo Nordisk, leaders in obesity treatments thanks to their “ A ” alignment with current medical and social demand.

Finally, he advised the students to build their careers on the basis of continuous self- work , honesty, prudence, and adaptability in the face of the industry’s challenges.

Following the diploma submission by the faculty’s academic authorities, student representatives Sara de la Calle Santiago and Anny Valentina Maldonado Calderón delivered a moving “ speech ” on behalf of their classmates.  The students reflected on their time in the classrooms and thanked their families and professors for their support: “We are no longer the same people who walked through the doors of the classroom 10 on that first day. And we are not alone either,” they said proudly, celebrating the spirit of belonging and the bonds they had forged before closing with an emotional “Congratulations, MIDIs. We did it.”

The ceremony concluded with the dean’s official closing remarks at position , followed by the traditional group photo at group and a reception.
