The Professional Programs Unit (UPP) is embarking on a new phase this month as it becomes a department of the University of Navarra. This new structure consolidates the Unit’s evolution and strengthens its ability to collaborate across departments with Schools, schools, centers, and other university departments.

Created during the 2021–22 academic year, the UPP was established to promote lifelongtraining initiatives capable of addressing the evolving needs of professionals and organizations, connecting them with the University’s knowledge and its professor and research expertise. Since then, its activities have grown steadily. During the 2025–26 academic year, 3,665 students participated in 65 programs launched through the Unit.

Its establishment as a department marks another step forward in the consolidation of this field within the University. The UPP will also function as a cost center, establishing its own structure to Financial Services Office its activities and facilitating the coordination of projects carried out in collaboration with the various centers and units.

training Permanent and Corporate Programs

The UPP’s activities are organized into two main lines of work. On the one hand, it supports Schools, schools, and centers in the design, development , and the management of continuing training programs. The goal is to facilitate the transformation of the knowledge generated within the University into new educational offerings aimed at professionals and society, in in-person, online, and hybrid formats.

In addition, through Corporate Programs, the University works directly with companies and institutions to address their learning needs and development. The starting point is not a Catalog Closed of courses, but rather the specific challenges faced by each organization. Based on these challenges, professors, experts, knowledge , and resources from different areas of the University are brought together to design customized learning experiences.

This approach makes it possible to address areas such as leadership, organizational transformation, innovation, talent and people, strategy and management, sustainability, technology and artificial intelligence, and health and well-being, among others.

Bringing " knowledge " and Real Needs Together

This new phase thus reinforces the UPP’s mission as a point of meeting between university- knowledge s and the needs of professionals and organizations. Its role consists not only of launching programs, but also of developing the skills necessary to tackle new professional and business challenges.

With its establishment as a department, the Professional Programs Unit seeks to consolidate this cross-functional role and continue to expand the partnership with the University’s various schools, companies, and institutions.

“ knowledge s change people. People transform organizations,” summarizes the purpose (The Learning Experience) approach through which the UPP is tackling this new phase: turning the “ knowledge ” into learning experiences capable of making an impact on people and organizations.
