The University and the National Confederation of Women in Equality signed an agreement partnership agreement

The agreement is directed to promote the training in equality, through a course given by the academic center.

The University of Navarra and the National Confederation of Women in Equality have signed a partnership agreement aimed at promote the training in equality, through a course taught by the academic center. 

Specifically, it will facilitate the participation of the members of the association in the training course superior in equality of the School of Philosophy and Letters of the academic center. The agreement has been signed by Álvaro Balibrea, General Manager of the University of Navarra, and Susana Camarero, president of the National Confederation of Women in Equality.

One of the objectives of this organization, which has 40,000 members, is to promote continuous training activities. With a duration of four weeks, the course, which is taught asynchronously, will enable them to acquire the basics for the development of the equality plan in organizations, as well as access to core topic issues related to topic.

Susana Camarero valued the agreement as "an opportunity to achieve a greater awareness Degree and training in these matters so unknown, even today, for many people". Likewise, the former administrative assistant of State for Social Services and Equality has highlighted the importance of higher Education centers offering this subject of courses: "We need the training in equality to exist in all Spanish universities. It is fortunate to be able to work with educational institutions that are fully committed to these values, that have a background and provide serious and committed content with this topic".

Course aimed at organizations that must implement an equality plan.

For her part, María Cruz Díaz de Terán, coordinator of the course, pointed out that training in equality "provides many keys to detect discriminatory situations in different areas and financial aid to raise awareness of the lack of effective equality of opportunities between women and men". "Although much has been achieved, there is still a long way to go," she adds.

The course is aimed primarily at organizations with a workforce of fifty people or more which, according to Royal Decree-Law 6/2019, of March 1, must draw up and implement an equality plan. It is also open to companies that want to obtain the seal of distinction in equality or access certain public subsidies, as well as to people interested in training on this issue. The first edition began last September 20, with more than 300 registered; many of them teachers and managers from various educational centers of the Spanish Confederation of Centers of teaching (CECE), an entity with which the University of Navarra also signed a agreement for the training in this area.
