The students of the Master's Degree in research, development and Drug Innovation (MIDI) and Master's Degree in management of Pharma-Biotech Companies (MUGEPB) celebrated on December 16 the academic acts of graduation that put an end to the formative period in the School of Pharmacy and Nutrition.
The Campus of Pamplona welcomed the 28 students that make up the XXXII promotion of MIDI and their families. The closing lecture was at position of Esteban Morrás, co-founder of VITIO, during which he addressed a project development of a standard body temperature monitoring from Navarra. He recounted the experience of using a temperature sensor (of the type already used in wind turbines) to continuously monitor the body temperature of patients in nursing homes during the pandemic, since it was found that the system detected febrile temperatures up to 5 days before a positive PCR. Thus, when the patient's temperature rose, an alarm was generated, and the nurse at residency program would come to monitor oxygen saturation and lives could be saved by transferring patients to the hospital in time.
However, it was later realized that the project was not as necessary in nursing homes as there was no need to monitor healthy patients, but it is being applied in home hospitalization patients (with the consequent reduction of the hospital invoice ). This idea has continued to evolve into a platform for monitoring the rest of the vital signs in home hospitalization.
For her part, the dean of the School, María Javier Ramírez, reminded the students that from that moment on they were already part of the great family of alumni of the University. "You have concluded a stage core topic in your academic evolution and maturation staff. I hope you have met friends, enjoyed your experiences and made a work well done. You have a long way to go, but you are capable of continuing to learn for the rest of your lives".
In the case of the III promotion of Master's Degree in management of Pharma-Biotech Companies, the closing ceremony was held in the Alumni Building of Campus in Madrid. The 36 students who made up the graduating class attended the lecture lecture given by Professor José Ramón Pin. He spoke to them about their leap into the working world, giving them some recommendations and emphasizing the partnership among them and the need to continue training.
