The University hosts the 29th International Communication congress , which will analyze the challenges of digital media management
The School of Communication of the University of Navarra will host tomorrow, Friday 24th, and Saturday 25th the 29th edition of the International Communicationcongress (CICOM). The meeting, which will focus on the management of online media ("Managing Online average: Into the Next Stage of Digital"), is held on this occasion in conjunction with the 7th annual meeting of the International average Management Academic Association (IMMAA).
IMMAA is a professional grouping of academic researchers from around the world who discuss issues related to management media. Its goal is to develop the research and the teaching of the management media.
The congress will focus on issues of strategicmanagement of online media. As the dean of the School of Communication, Mónica Herrero, explains, "the digital revolution is pushing us to a new dimension for Communication. The path that we are opening its professionals and researchers is full of challenges and opportunities, but also of risks, as shown by the different bets when it comes to managing the media in this new online stage. We are pioneers in this revolution that is redefining the profession and the communication industry and we have the mission statement to set the instructions of the communication of the future".
The President of the University of Navarra, Alfonso Sánchez-Tabernero; the president of the IMMAA, Eli Noam; and Mónica Herrero will participate in the inauguration of the congress, which will take place tomorrow, Friday, at 9 am.
The conference have been coordinated by a scientific committee chaired by Eli Noam (Columbia University - USA) and co-chaired by Mónica Herrero (University of Navarra); and also composed by Elena Vartanova (Moscow State University - Russia), John Lavine (Northwestern University - USA), Chris Scholz (Saarland University - Germany), and Paulo Faustino (Porto University - Portugal).
