Ramiro Pellitero, professor of the School of Theology of the University of Navarra, has been appointed member of the General committee of the Church in Education (CGIE). With this committee, formed by a group of sixty people from different fields, the Episcopal Commission for Education and Culture wants to give continuity to the path undertaken in February 2024 with the congress Church in Education. The committee met for the first time on May 20 and, as the Episcopal lecture points out on its web page, the CGIE is an expression of the urgency felt to care for the presence and commitment of the Church in Education at the present time. It is expected that during 2025 it will begin to develop its nature and purposes.

Its goal is to provide the Episcopal Commission for Education and Culture with an instrument for the coordination, participation and reflection of the ecclesial entities and instances involved in Catholic Education . In this way, with the CGIE, the Episcopal Commission for Education and Culture offers a space for participation, dialogue and common work that aims to involve the associations, federations and entities of the numerous actors that contribute to the educational mission statement of the Christian community.
