The School of Philosophy and Letters welcomes its 305 new students
240 Degree and double Degrees students and 65 students from the International Foundation Program begin their programs of study in our classrooms.

The School of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Navarra has celebrated the welcome workshop for the students who begin their programs of study this year: 240 students of the Degree and Double Degree and 65 students of the International Foundation Program. The event, held in the emblematic setting of the Magna classroom of the Central Building, was goal at accompanying the newcomers in their first university steps.
The ceremony began with words of welcome from the dean, Julia Pavón, who pointed out that the arrival of these new students "is a great cause for celebration for our School". Among her advice for these first days of the course and for the coming years, she encouraged them to be the best version of themselves, to take advantage of academic and extracurricular opportunities and to cultivate new friendships: "Soon, at your graduation, you will remember this new stage fondly. Take advantage of it and be grateful for this gift from your families and those who will be your teachers during this time."
For her part, Professor Dolores López, Vice Dean of Students, encouraged the students to take the helm of their lives, with perseverance, freedom and a sense of duty: "You are in an environment, the University of Navarra, whose purpose is to help each student find the meaning of his or her life. He also encouraged them to learn to look, to listen, to read and not to stop asking questions: "In the School of Philosophy and Letters we are a team, in which you are the heart of our desires, so that our university work is fulfilled".
Raquel Lázaro, professor of Philosophy, then took the floor. Under the degree scroll "The gift of being a university student", she invited the students to discover during the coming years the staff and social value of their time at the University. "Being a university student goes beyond being enrolled in a Degree or attend a class. It is a gift, a gift. And you have had the good fortune to choose to be university students in this house". In this sense, he reminded them of the importance of responding to this gift by "loving the truth, cultivating knowledge, asking important questions and contributing to society".
Cristhian Mestre, director of development at the School, also took part in the workshop , detailing the opportunities offered by Philosophy and Letters in both complementary training and career prospects. As a veteran student , Alejo López Vila, 4th year student of the double Degree in Philosophy and Journalism, shared with the students some advice to help them make the most of this new stage, among others, "do not procrastinate, cultivate good friendships, enjoy and take advantage of the opportunities offered by our University, be yourself, enjoy learning, make Pamplona your home and be grateful".
The workshop concluded with a coffee break where the students were able to have a first contact with teachers and mentors. Welcome!
