Students from the second year of Architecture, specifically from the subject Elements of Composition, are exhibiting a total of 17 works this summer at the Gayarre Theater for the remodeling of the rear façade of the building. The basic program of action of project focuses on two apartments for the exclusive use of the Divos, the stars who would inhabit the new extension in the course of their performances.

The idea, which arose spontaneously last January, is the initiation of Architecture students in real projects on the ground. "The architect and professor at the School, Luis Tena, was always saying how bad the Gayarre had looked at the back compared to the façade of Carlos III. The Sanfermines have made it a very relevant point and he proposed the idea of doing something for this space," says Mariano Gonzalez, professor at the School and director of high school of Basque-Navarre Architects.

A total of 90 students were involved in the projects for the remodeling of the façade that faces place de Toros, with 17 works finally being exhibited in the Theater. "The proposals have been wonderful and special, not only for how you can provide the divo with special things, also for the novel ideas that have been presented for this famous corner. It is something important for the city," says Grego Navarro, director of the Gayarre Theater.

For her part, architect Marta García Alonso, who has worked with the students since the beginning of the proposal, highlighted "the enrichment of work like this for the students, which provides a plus for dialogue and discussion about architecture".

The most relevant results of the exercise can be seen in this exhibition, which is the first project made by these future architects of the School. For your enjoyment, the artist Alicia Otaegui, who has coordinated it, has decided to dispense with the "vertical plane" so that "the diversity of languages" could be understood.
