ISEM has taken over the ownership of the Global Fashion Conference (GFC), an international benchmark in research applied to the fashion sector founded by Isabel Cantista, dean of the School of Economics at Universidade Lusíada (Porto).

The alliance with ISEM ensures the continuity and growth of a project to which I have dedicated more than 15 years, now under the support of an academic institution of international prestige," said Cantista during the ceremony. It is a way to consolidate the GFC bequest , bringing new resources, ideas and vision".
The Global Fashion Conference, which has been held since 2008, has brought together hundreds of academics, researchers and industry professionals in its various editions held at universities across Europe. With this addition, ISEM takes another step forward in its consolidation as a center of reference letter in the study of fashion from a business and ethical perspective. "The Global Fashion Conference is fully in line with our mission statement: to train and connect leaders in the fashion industry through academic rigor, international partnership and an ethical vision of innovation," said Teresa Sádaba, dean of ISEM.
The most recent edition of the GFC was held in October 2024 in Bucharest (Romania), in partnership with the University of Economic programs of study in Bucharest. ISEM is already working with Prof. Cantista to prepare the next edition, scheduled for 2026 in Copenhagen.
