Miguel Zugasti pronounces the lecture plenary opening of a congress in Mexico City related to Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz.
The coordinator of the group of research TriviUN inaugurates the symposium "Women Writers, Scientists and Literate Nuns who preceded Sor Juana", organized by the Universidad del Claustro de Sor Juana.

The professor of the School of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Navarra Miguel Zugasti was in charge of opening the international symposium "Women writers, scientists and literate nuns who preceded Sor Juana", organized on April 12-13, 2018 by the University of the Cloister of Sor Juana. In his plenary lecture entitled "María de Estrada Medinilla, una Décima Musa avant la lettre", Professor Miguel Zugasti analyzed the life and work of María de Estrada Medinilla, one of the few Mexican poets of entity who preceded Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz (the very famous Décima Musa). Dr. Miguel Zugasti's findings and publications have rescued from oblivion and put into circulation most of the verses of this 17th century Novo-Hispanic poet, who today enjoys a growing literary prestige.
This research is supported by the University of Navarra through its incentive program to the research PIUNA 2017, and by the project MINECO (reference letter FFI2017-86801-P): "Teatro, fiesta y cultura visual en la monarquía hispánica (ss.
