The future professionals of School Nursing prepare for their entry into the labor market.

Sixteen healthcare groups, recruitment agencies and hospitals participated in the conference of career guidance of the School Nursing, which was attended by more than 300 students.

The conference of career guidance, organised by the School of Nursing of the University of Navarra, brought together this year more than 300 students and 16 healthcare groups, contracting agencies and hospitals. Isabel Iturrioz, president of the high school de Enfermería de Navarra, was in charge of opening the conference with a presentation of the high school de Enfermería. "Nursing professionals must enrich the profession. Through high school we can have access to training programmes and, furthermore, it can be a loudspeaker for the needs of the smallest groups", explained the president.

Throughout the day, the students were able to meet and chat with representatives from the different companies that came to campus. group Quirón, IMQ Zorrotzaurre, la Clínica Universidad de Navarra Hospital San Juan de Dios, Clínica Padre Menni, Clínica San Miguel, Amavir, Matia Fundazioa and Clínica Josefina Arregui explained their recruitment criteria and helped the students to focus their professional future. On what companies are looking for from future healthcare professionals, Leticia Vidarte, representative of department of Organisation and People at Quirón Salud, commented; "we are not only looking for good professionals, but we want to provide an environment in which they can develop both staff and professionally", she said.

Representatives from Global Working, Orpea Group, Laborare Conseil, and EMTG took part in a round table at employment focused on final-year students. They were able to explain status healthcare in countries such as the Netherlands, France and Norway, and what steps they should take to start their professional degree program with an experience abroad. "To work abroad we need people with an adventurous spirit, open-minded and above all with a desire to grow", said Carmen Prego, Acquisition Talent Specialist-Spair at EMTG. 

During the conference, different health professionals informed the students about the processes to follow in order to direct their degree program to research through the programs of study of postgraduate program, or to prepare for the competitive examinations and the EIR, as well as the functioning of the job listings of Osasunbidea and Osakidetza. The students of School also took part in different workshops and sessions on speech, self-knowledge, work in a team, and how to write a CV or how to prepare for an interview at work, among others. In addition, the 4th year students had the opportunity to carry out their first selection processes, 205 interviews were recorded with 11 of the participating companies. 

Employability plan for nurses

The conference of career guidance is framed in the Employability Plan designed by the School of Nursing, so that, throughout the four years of Degree, students have the possibility of attend to attend activities, sessions and workshops, international professional visits or congresses, in order to become nursing professionals with a added value.
