Alumni Convention: Working with enthusiasm to align alumni support with Strategy 25/30

Last Saturday, September 20, the Alumni Convention was held, with the participation of presidents and members of the national Chapters from 19 locations in Spain.
The workshop began with a welcome from Alumni President Inés García Paine (COM'93), who thanked the Chapters for their work in keeping the Alumni community in their city connected and encouraged them to plan the activity of each group in tune with the general objectives of the University and the needs of the alumni"I am confident that our work will help to better attract alumni support for the university's projects over the next five years," he added.
The workshop program included a session by the president, María Iraburu, who presented the 25/30 Strategy, which will serve as a framework of work for the next five years. With the slogan: "A university for all: Talent, Science and Commitment", the aim is to contribute to building a "less polarized and more reflective" society. The president highlighted "the commitment" in areas in which the University of Navarra "intends to be a reference" and to have "a special social impact". María Iraburu insisted on the importance of transferring it to society, for which "the University also counts on the financial aid of the alumni".
For her part, Isabel Olloqui, Vice President of development, explained the impulse that comes from being heirs to a magnanimous project of international character, preceded by professionals who followed in the footsteps of the founder, and encouraged the Alumni presidents to continue contributing, with enthusiasm, to the development their alma mater.
The Vice President invited the President of Barcelona, José Vilaseca (DER'93), to share the experience of the Gaudí scholarship , a solidarity crowfunding among alumni to endow a scholarship fund Alumni Perpetua, which allows financing the programs of study a student with few economic resources.
The afternoon ended with a work, where the Alumni director , Iñigo Gutiérrez (TECNUN'98 | PHD'04), presented the objectives of the Alumni Service, highlighting the new offer of the Alumni Learning program and the Sectorial Alumni, and focusing this year on the promotion of alumni employment opportunities and the suggestions of the delegates to address this challenge.
