The School de Farmacia y Nutrición awards the Extraordinary Prizes of Degree and doctorate

These awards recognize the academic excellence of students.

The School of Pharmacy and Nutrition has awarded the Extraordinary Prizes to the best records that finish their programs of study, both Degree and doctorate corresponding to the course 21/22. The ceremony was held on the occasion of the Patron Saint's Day of the School. The dean of the center, María Javier Ramírez, highlighted "the joy of celebrating students from School reaching a level of academic excellence".

On the part of the Degree in Pharmacy, the recognition went to Marta Alonso, who is currently studying a Master's Degree of research in neuroscience at the University of St. Andrews (Scotland). From the Degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, the School has recognized Marián Pueyo, a student of the Diploma in Sports Nutrition and the Sports Talent Program of the University, who is also a player of the PM Friol Club (Lugo).

The student of doctoral program in medicines and health Diego Vera has received the award after completing the doctoral thesis entitled, "Development of disease and drug models for rare diseases: Application to Acute Intermittent Porphyria" at the department de Tecnología y Chemistry Farmacéuticas, under the direction of professors Iñaki F. Trocóniz and Zinnia P. Parra

In addition, within the doctoral program in food, physiology and health, Amanda Cuevas has been awarded with her thesis "Gut Microbiota, Diet and Obesity: Interplay with Host Genetics and Personalization of Weight Loss", directed by Fermín Milagro, from department of Food Science and Physiology.
