Artificial intelligence and its application in different areas, the ethics of the professions and science communication are among the core topic of the University of Navarra's Strategy 25-30. Under the slogan "A University for all: talent, science and commitment", the plan is structured around three main axes: attracting talent andtraining competent professionals; the research rigorous and multidisciplinary research and commitment to some of the most important challenges of our time.
The academic center aims to attract talent in the Degree and doctorate programs of study through the increase of Alumni Scholarships and the redesign of doctorate grants. The Alumni Scholarships program will be expanded, with the goal that 10% of Degree students will benefit from this scholarship (currently 5% benefit from it). Likewise, the possibility of receiving scholarships for their graduate programs of study will be opened. On the other hand, doctorate grants for young researchers will be redesigned and their issue will be significantly increased.
The University of Navarra also intends to systematize and enrich its educational proposal , which combines the highest professional qualifications with a humanistic vision based on reflection, critical thinking and the search for truth. Activities for staff growth, physical and emotional well-being, social impact and volunteer activities, as well as professional development , will be integrated into academic life.
This goal, framed in the degree scroll "Talent: people for the present and the future" is the first axis of the 2025-2030 Strategy of the University of Navarra. "A university for all' is a university in dialogue with everyone and open to the world, seeking new ways to collaborate with others to respond to the challenges of our time, aware of the value of Education and research to transform our society and contribute to the common good," said the president, María Iraburu.
research and commitment
"Science: rigorous and relevant research , with an interdisciplinary perspective" is the second axis. In its Strategy 25-30, the University has defined somepriority lines of research grouped around three major interdisciplinary areas, in which it aspires to be a benchmark in research and to generate a positive impact, both nationally and internationally: Health and care; Future, development and commitment; and work, a transforming force in society.
These three areas, in turn, have 9 lines of research: advanced therapies; Nutrition and health; Family and care; Sustainability and environment; Economics, society and development; Information, regulation and digital transition in the service of truth; Theology of work; Meaning of work and purpose; and Aging, productivity and organization of work.
Finally, the third axis, "Commitment to mission statement and the environment", proposes that the University should be an external reference in the major issues that shape our world and in some areas in which it will not only seek to promote projects, but also to measure their scope.
There will be four areas: the irruption of AI in professional environments and specifically in the University, in order to "be leaders in its integration into professor and research activity"; the ethics of the professions, to qualify professionals in all fields and especially in medical ethics, palliative care and bioethics"; ScienceEducation , through the activity of the Science Museum of the BIOMA Center, whose project aims to improve the quality of science Education at all educational levels and to foster STEM vocations; and research communication, enhancing the transfer of knowledge to society, being a reliable source of relevant, contextualized and non-polarized information.
Strategic centers: BIOMA, Technological Campus and Madrid Campus .
The objectives set out in the 2025-2030 Strategy require strategic infrastructures aimed at improving and expanding research and the university experience. The University will also renew its structure and procedures to adapt to a digital environment that affects work in multiple ways and to offer a better service to people and the university project .
Among these new infrastructures, the BIOMA Centerwhich will house the Science Museum, the BIOMA Institute and the professor and research activities of the Schools, is one of the University's most important projects for the coming years.
Likewise, the facilities will be improved, as they are considered strategic centers, at the San Sebastian Technological Campus , due to the technological solutions required in the current environment; and at the Madrid Campus , to improve the offer of professional training and to promote this campus as a meeting and projection of academic activity. Finally, the Organization and Projects Office will be created, which will address cross-cutting issues such as data management , streamlining processes and improving management, direction and governance tasks.
