Last Saturday, May 21, took place the graduation ceremony of 97 students of the School of Philosophy and Letters belonging to the LXIV promotion of Degree in History, the LIX promotion of Philosophythe LVI promotion of Philology Hispanic Studies, the XXV promotion of HumanitiesII promotion of Literature and Creative Writing (LEC) and the I promotion of Degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE).

After participating in a mass of thanksgiving at the chapel of Sciences and making a floral offering to the Virgin of campus, the students went with their families and friends to classroom Magna of Central Building, where the academic ceremony took place, chaired by the dean of the School, Julia Pavón.

Luka García, from Degree in History and Diploma in Archaeology, spoke on behalf of his fellow students. In his speech, he paraphrased the writer Irene Vallejo, who stated in her visit to the University of Navarra in 2021 that "it is worth choosing the humanist training to confront the pragmatic methods that reign in today's society, to feel the past of our ancestors and for us to put down roots". He also pointed out that "it is the motivation to discover ourselves and to give answers to all the questions that fill our existence with meaning that leads us to bet on this passionate Education".

During the ceremony, five short videos were shown in which the course delegates, representing the students, wrote a letter of thanks "to each and every one of the people who have been part of our life at campus: friends, teachers, classmates... and to those who have allowed us to begin this adventure. Mom, Dad. Thank you.

After the submission , Jaume Aurell, sponsor of the promotion of Degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE), addressed the audience on behalf of the other sponsors: Javier Azanza, from History; Alfredo Cruz, from Philosophy; Cristina Tabernero, from Philology; Pilar Saiz, from LEC; and Mei-Hsin Chen, from Humanities. In his speech, Professor Aurell encouraged students to live coherently, with intellectual honesty and a deep study of the problems, being aware of their complexity: "I recently read a quotation that says that the world is changing so fast that the difficulty lies in finding people capable of interpreting it. You, students, have been entrusted with this task of interpreting the world and this requires a dose of realism that can only be achieved through a deep and considered analysis of the reality that surrounds us," he said.

In her closing speech , the dean, Julia Pavón, agreed with Professor Aurell when she said that "the historical view and the capacity for judgment allow us to distance ourselves from the media news to build an alternative observatory of analysis. From that privileged critical position that you have acquired in your disciplines, supported by Christian Humanism, it will not be difficult to understand historical events that place us before the true value of time and man".

The workshop concluded with a cocktail in which the graduates, their families, friends and all the professionals of the center were able to share anecdotes, experiences and memories of their time at the University of Navarra.

Congratulations to all and good luck in this new stage!
